Blood runs thicker than water, but the World Series runs thicker than everything. Matt Holliday described his family's long-time friendship with opposing manager John Farrell on Tuesday.

As a young man, the Red Sox skipper pitched at Oklahoma State under the Cardinals' outfielder's dad, Tom Holliday, and eventually coached alongside him. Farrell even occasionally babysat for the Hollidays.

So who will Matt's father be rooting for? "I would hope he's not conflicted," Holliday joked, "I am his son."
