The greatest MLB manager skier is Mike Redmond, says Mike Redmond

Remember a few weeks ago, when Mike Redmond was spotted catching some sick air on the slopes, while wearing Marlins colors no less? The Miami manager recently spoke to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro at Spring Training where he shed a bit more light on the story behind the jump -- and also threw some winter-sport shade on his skipper colleagues.

Redmond explained that he's an accomplished skier and the jump, which he estimated at around 15 feet, came during an Idaho trip with former teammate Mike Lowell. Asked how many other MLB managers could execute the impressive move, Redmond replied simply, "probably none."

Sounds like a challenge to me. Anyone interested in setting up artificial-snow ski jumps in Arizona and Florida so his counterparts can try to prove him wrong?
