Steve Carell considers fielding popup, Red Sox let it drop for hit

Taking a break from his busy schedule of making movies, TV and playing the fife, actor and comedian Steve Carell attended his first Red Sox game of the season on Saturday night.

After admitting that he is not superstitious but just a little stitious, the former Office star proved prophetic. When Omar Infante hit a pop-up to short left field, Carell said, "I should run out and I should get that."

The Red Sox, taking this as a proclamation of "I got it," let the ball drop in for a hit.
